If Only Tears and Memories Could Build a Stairway to Heaven by

IF
ONLY TEARS AND MEMORIES COULD
BUILD A STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
by
Al Chestone of River Vale, NJ
Retired FBI Agent
Our
heaven-aimed twin towers have been destroyed,
Our beautifully designed Pentagon, was set afire,
This was the sole intention of the terrorists,
This was their goal, this was their ultimate desire.
They
collaborated, trained and studied,
To execute their plan,
Determined to draw attention,
To their Godless beliefs, upon which they stand.
They
are despicable cowards, and murderers,
Nestled in a satanic cell,
Whose worthiness the Lord will one day judge,
Whether to enter His Kingdom, or be cast into a fiery Hell.
They
have crumbled our pillared
towers,
And damaged our Pentagon,
But our freedom still rings loud and clear,
And our “unyielding spirit” will forever live on.
Yet
we ask, why did innocent people have to die?
As we are tormented with memories and unashamedly cry.
Our President spoke and he touched the hearts of our great Nation,
And shared a promise, of a carefully planned, destructive retaliation.
The
response of volunteers to the scene of the crime,
Gave evidence of a loving, brotherly sign.
Neither race, creed nor color, mattered at all,
As
caring Americans, we stood erect, proud, strong and ever so tall.
Firemen,
medical personnel and people of all trades and professions,
Forged
and linked a chain of unity,
As dedicated Law Enforcement Officials successfully pieced together,
The terrorist puzzle, without regard for impunity.
Farewell,
our beloved brothers and sisters,
As you take comfort in the Lord’s warm embrace,
We will pause often for the rest of our lives and search our hearts,
Reflecting on how each of
you touched the whole human race.
We
thank God for Our Freedom, Our Spirit and Our Spacious Skies,
The Fruited Plain And The Amber Waves of Grain.
But most of all, we treasured your life with us,
And now you are with the Lord, in whom our country has its greatest trust.
Therefore,
may each of you find comfort in the beautiful words,
of an unknown author, who wrote :
“If Only Tears Could
Build a Stairway And
Memories, a Lane,
We Would All Walk To Heaven, And
Bring You Home Again”.

Day
of infamy Day of hate
Day of evil Day of fate
Iconic infernos of souls lost
Heros born at a staggering cost
Ground Zero Ground Hero
Heros Fly Heros Die
Cell phones carry brave goodbyes
Loved ones mourn through tearful eyes
Man and beast search the rubble
Hopes of life in a world of trouble
Brave voice on cellphone lines
Bidding farewell to tearful eyes
911 Day of fear and hate
911 Lived shared by fate
911 Lives taken
911 Lives foresaken
Lost souls rising our of funeral pyres
United a nation to justice and good
Less we forget this date of destruction
Pray for God's grace and infinite instruction
911 a date to remember
Our lives rising from rubble
911 a date never to be forgotten
911 Unites a despondent nation again
Nations of the world unite
Teach your people what is right
Parents hug your children very deep
Give them lives of hope and faith
Wisdom faith and strength of soul
Will be needed by us all
Let justice and hope prevail
God Bless America God Bless us all
